Who We Are

Mindful is a leading provider of corporate training, consumer media, licensed content, directories, and other communications pertaining to the topic of mindfulness, around the world. We are a Public Benefit Corporation that exists to improve human well-being through the practices of mindfulness.

Mindful’s platforms include the corporate training product, LifeXT by Mindful; the bi-monthly magazine, Mindful; mindful.org; e-newsletters; videos; podcasts; conferences; directories; and other collaborations.

Who You Are

An energetic, flexible, creative, and detail-oriented contributor, the Associate Editor has a solid understanding of mindfulness, some experience as an editor and writer, a facility with technology, and an appetite for exploring new platforms and ways of telling stories. A solid team player, the Associate Editor supports the work of Senior Editors, the Managing Editor, and the Editor in Chief.

Your Impact

  • Writing and editing copy for print and online
  • Implementing strategy across social platforms
  • Creating inclusive and diverse content for all platforms including Mindful, mindful.org, social media, newsletters, events, and podcasts
  • Assisting in the copy flow and proofing process for all Mindful publications
  • Producing posts for mindful.org, including image research
  • Building, testing, and scheduling newsletters
  • Editing audio and transcriptions as needed for Mindful’s podcast, 12-Minute Meditation
  • Curating content required for content licensing requests
  • Establishing relationships with Mindful contributions

Your Skills & Capabilities + Role Expectations

Recommended qualifications:

  • A familiarity with (and ideally experience practicing) mindfulness and meditation
  • Strong writing skills—able to write for daily deadlines
  • SEO knowledge and skills
  • Content management system experience (WordPress)
  • Experience and enthusiasm for creating and scheduling content for social media platforms
  • Basic proficiency in audio and video production and editing
  • Basic knowledge of photo editing for online use

  • Digitally savvy
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and prioritize tasks
  • Research and analysis skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Consistently respond to customer questions and concerns through social platforms
  • Collaborate with fellow editors and across departments
  • Bring a high degree of attention to detail
  • Stay up to date on technology developments in the social sphere
  • Contribute to the development of Mindful’s internal culture
